Vendor due diligence starts with identity. Match the legal name, CIN, registered office, company status, and directors against documents submitted by the vendor.
A mismatch does not always mean fraud. It can mean stale documents, branch-level confusion, or a group company being used for invoicing. Flag it early and ask for clarification.
For higher-value vendors, combine company master data with GST status, filings, charge records, and director network checks.
